By Football Italy news staffTevez: ‘There are many great clubs in the Premier League but Milan are among the best’This year’s Champions League has been marred by a slew of high profile departures, but with the new season beginning, it’s time to move on.

The Rossoneri have confirmed they will not be taking part in the competition and will instead be playing their home games in the city of Milan.

The first leg between the two sides kicks off on Friday and the home tie is due to be played on March 14.

According to Sport Mediaset, Milan’s director of football Gianluigi Donnarumma told the press that the club was committed to the competition in any way possible.

“Milan will not take part in this competition,” he said.

“We will have to work out an alternative plan for the home leg, which is scheduled to take place in March.

We have no plans to play in Europe.

The Rossonerio are in the last three years without a Champions League trophy.

Their last appearance was in 2013, when they were beaten 2-1 by FC Porto.
