A $3.4bn factory is about to get built in India

Auto parts maker Jim’s Auto Parts in India is about, according to a report by The Economic Times.

Jim’s has signed a contract with the government of Uttar Pradesh to build the plant, which will be located in the town of Vashwad in Lucknow district, the report said.

Jims has been the leading supplier of auto parts to the world’s auto companies since the 1970s.

It has a turnover of around $1.7bn in India, the Indian Business Times said.

It is the second major auto supplier to get its factory built in the country.

India has invested $50m to build an auto parts plant in Kolkata.
